ERIC AMECA現為365英国上市官网在线生态環境學院教授、博士生導師。我擁有倫敦帝國理工學院和倫敦動物學會動物研究所的聯合博士學位。我是IUCN SSC氣候變化專家組指導委員會委員、靈長類專家組馬達加斯加分會委員、中國物種專家組成員。我聯合各小組開展的研究重點是了解氣候變化和人類壓力對動物種群、物種類型和生物多樣性重點保護地區帶來的新威脅。

我們與中國科學院動物研究所 (IoZ-CAS) 的同事一起評估了中國主要生物多樣性保護區的脊椎動物在物種豐富度高的地區、洪水易發區和人類避難區之間的相關性。同樣,我們在大熊貓自然保護區内确定了人類幹擾的區域,這些區域需要對自然幹擾進行風險評估,以避免人類對熊貓栖息地幹擾的增加,減少突發極端事件帶來的影響。

我使用系統發育分析、空間統計和編程來研究動物物種的生态和生活史屬性,這些屬性可能與因極端氣候事件而導緻的嚴重種群下降和滅絕風險增加有關。最近,在先前研究的基礎上,我們評估了世界靈長類動物對飓風和幹旱的響應以及世界幹旱地區鳥類對高溫的響應,量化了全球瀕危的米爾恩-愛德華氏冕狐猴的滅絕風險,并提出了一個評估物種應對極端氣候事件的行為靈活性的模型。我是《Conservation Biology》、《Integrative Zoology》、《Climate Change Ecology》和《Integrative Conservation》的編委會成員。
